About

We listen, act, and transform

My name is Jimmy Loer (pronounced Lauer), and my life is shaped first and foremost by my faith in God. I am also a husband, father, friend, and now, a therapist dedicated to walking alongside people in their hardest seasons. After serving 18 years in law enforcement, I discovered my next calling: helping individuals and couples, especially first responders and survivors of trauma to find hope, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose. My clinical style is direct, compassionate, and grounded in a faith-based foundation. In treatment, I use an eclectic approach drawing from multiple evidence-based interventions, mixed with Gottman-informed interventions to best support the unique individuals and couples I work with as we collaboratively develop a customized treatment experience to best support your highest goals and potential. The Bible tells us that no life is outside of God’s plan—and in that plan, there is no such thing as failure, only opportunities to grow. Whether you survived experiences of trauma, struggle in your marriage, face personal hardships, have difficulty emotionally navigating the complexities of first responder life, or simply seek to finally find a sense of direction in your life- my aim is to provide a safe haven space intentionally designed to support and guide you to experience the profoundly healing effect of being genuinely heard and deeply understood. By supporting your self-confidence through a genuinely collaborative therapeutic alliance, my aim is empowering you into deeper exploration of your story as you begin taking action to move towards the life you were created for. In Texas, I am under the supervision of Dr. Drew Jamieson, LMFT-S , and in Idaho, I am under the supervision of Jeremiah Guidos, LCP-C and Preston Herdt, LMFT-S. I hold a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University (COAMFTE Accredited) and a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice Administration from Wayland Baptist University. My first career as a police officer granted me a unique understanding of the pressures of public service, trauma, and the stressors life can throw at us. Those experiences shaped my heart for helping others navigate pain, rebuild connections, and embrace the good that lies ahead. Whether you are an individual carrying a heavy burden, or a couple working to strengthen your relationship, I am here to walk with you on this journey towards healing and growth. When I am not helping others, I enjoy spending time with my wife of 15 years and our two daughters. We enjoy traveling, road trips, trying new restaurants, or the occasional lazy day on the couch!! I enjoy collecting and building firearms, hunting, smoking cigars, driving backroads or pastures in my UTV, and working on my truck (when it's a fun upgrade and not an unexpected breakdown)! Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
